I like collecting old sports cards: the older the better. I think everything about them is interesting, but what I especially love are the old stories behind the players. I decided to create a site to connect the player, the stories and the cards. I will try to focus on thelesser known stories from the sports they love. I am Canadian so my first love is hockey, but I am also interested in soccer/football, lacrosse and baseball.
Why do this?
- to ignite in readers an interest in sports history and in particular vintage sports cards
- to provide a resource for those doing their own research
To this end, I will be writing about a variety of topics and sports that interest me and I hope you too. I will do profiles of unique and compelling players, compile historical stories and provide my own points of view on overlooked cards and players. I hope it takes me off the beaten track.
My goal is to provide an updated blog every couple of weeks. I hope it will be of use.
